The perfect word that sums up how I've been feeling is fragmented. Not necessarily in a bad way either. One moment I feel very homesick and the next I feel very happy here. And then I realized; if I went to visit home to see family and friends for a bit and traveled back here I would feel very okay. It's the sudden moments though. When I went exploring London, I couldn't stop imagining how awesome it would be if my family were here too. I wish I could show them around. I really would like to show someone from home how things are like in the UK and how much I know. And that I've grown more as a person and can handle things I feared before.
Living here and traveling inspires me to do more and more. Going to Germany made me want to learn German and so many more languages so I could communicate with other people around the world. Going to London made me feel content about living in the city for some time in my life.
As for uni, things are going pretty good as of now. This semester I am taking:
- Visual Culture and Media Studies
- Screen writing
- Modernism and Modernity
When I get back to CSUSB, I'll only have one more literature course to finish my minor!! I am a fan of the literature courses here. I feel like the professors are very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. As for the media classes, they are very interesting but sometimes I think the professors I have are vague when they lecture sometimes. But I make sure I know what's going on. Sometimes I don't understand how Swansea classes work. For one of my classes I only have two essays to write, them being all due this month in March. The semester doesn't end until June, and I'm not sure whether I have to stay for that class until June or not since we'll be done with our assignments by the end of this month. Screen writing is very cool though. It felt very awesome turning in an assignment that wasn't in MLA format, but a script form!
But to sum things up, I do enjoy being here a lot. Not do I only experience living British lifestyle, I'm surrounded by a lot of international students so I get to make friends with who come from different backgrounds and it's really really cool. It blows my mind to know people from a certain ethnic background but has lived their lives other than their native land, and who speaks so many different languages. And meeting them makes me want to do more and learn more! As cheesy as that sounds, but something in learning that is invigorating. Until next time.

I hope someday you can be my guide around London :D That would be wonderful. I'm glad you're learning so much and having such a good time.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could take your modernism and modernity class. I took modern lit at my campus and have studied modern literature in various classes and on my own and I just love it so much. I want to learn more!
I would love to show you around London! It's a city where I can see myself living for a time in my life. Maybe for when that day comes. ;) I definitely want to visit there again.
DeleteThe class is very interesting. I can give you a list of what books we're reading for the class if you haven't read them yet.
