Shiny new toy
It took me to go across the country to realize how much I want to be musically involved and to discover that music is my most passionate form of self expression. As much as I like writing, it doesn't satisfy me fully when you want to sing too. I didn't want to risk bringing the one I have at home so I bought this shiny blue Hudson one here just from the city center. I don't regret this decision because having it is so nice already. I was strumming it when I came back from town and my fingers hurt from not having callus fingers anymore.
I got my guitar for a really great price. It cost £59. I also bought a capo for £10 so all together it was only £69 which translates to about $111 in American dollars. I got even more than I expected.
I didn't get a case, but I was given a very flimsy cover (which to me was unexpected because I thought it would come in a box), a guitar strap, a beginner's DVD, an extra string, a string winder, an metal clamp AND a guitar pitch pipe! When I bought my first guitar all I got was my guitar and a case which was well over $500. But this, this is nice.
I was doubtful of this investment at first because I'm not sure if I want to bring this back home with me a year later. I thought 'what was the use of buying it when I could save money on other things like food or even a trip somewhere?' But I need it. I wouldn't feel like I was living if I just delayed things until I get back to California. I'm living in the moment now and I think the best song writing will be made while I'm abroad. I'm getting so much inspiration and I feel stronger and more serious about documenting the things I go through.
Hopefully later on I can record some videos and share it with you guys! Thanks for tuning in everyone. Tomorrow I'm going to Cardiff with Jill and Anne. Finally going to explore more of Wales! Have a great weekend!
